Who Are We?
The Ulah Volunteer Fire Department proudly serves in the heart of North Carolina, with a mixture of urban, rural, industrial and commercial fire district. Our department is made up of both career & volunteer members. These members proudly protect the citizens and visitors of southern Randolph County, in the Ulah fire district. Ulah Fire Department has three fire houses (Station numbers 11, 12 & 32).
Ulah F.D. Facts
The Ulah Fire Department"s district includes the entrance way to the N.C. State Zoo! Also the Ulah Fire Department is on the response for all structure alarms at the N.C. State Zoo! The N.C. State Zoo is one of two state-supported zoos in the United States (the other being the Minnesota Zoo).



The Ulah Fire Department"s district includes one of the last two remaining covered bridges in the state, The Pisgah Covered Bridge (The other being the Bunker Hill Covered Bridge).
The Ulah Fire Department"s district includes parts of the Uwharrie National Forest.
